2013
Set in a brave new world where a sophisticated, designer drug is now legal and prolilific. SOMA is about a culture addicted to entertainment.
East Germany, 1967, a scientist discovers a drug that will make all anxiety disappear, and only happiness remain. With no side-effects, no after effects: it’s the perfect drug.
It is Soma.
Fast-paced, shocking and surreal, the show was a return to exploring intersections of the post-dramatic, performance art, and music hall spectacle. Tonight show meets dream in this terrifying work of art.
The show featured electronic music by Manderson-Galvin and a Lynchian set+costume design by NIDA+VCA+National Art School alumni, painter/designer Soma Garner.
