Please Don’t
Talk About Me
When I’m Gone

by Tobias Manderson-Galvin

Dates

A fuck off celebrity, government agitprop and a broken down thoroughbred pointing the shotgun at you. When your nightmares wake you up; your fantasies become your truth and then you go to a theatre and shut up.

Award winning and controversial playwright, Tobias Manderson-Galvin, writer of The Economist and Dogmeat brings you the world premiere of five short plays. Directed by Nathalie Adlam and co-produced by Les Foules and MKA, Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone is an assortment of dystopian parables nailing the collective unease of the Global North.

The Plays. 1. They Shoot Ponies, Don’t They: A girl grows up to become what she always wanted to be, a horse. 2. The Shepherdess & the Saviour, Beauty Queens: Two Miss Worlds promise peace at a cost. 3. From Earth: Why bureaucrats best not read Logan’s Run. 4. The Jack the Ripper Experience: A distillation of pop-rape culture. And let’s not ruin the ending 5. Please Don’t Talk About Me.

A resurrection of theatrical form, from music hall to the post-dramatic, Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone is equal parts celebration and desecration.

WARNING
Endless, endless nights; A show, various metals.

FOR AUDIENCES
This show is not suitable for children, for teenagers, or for a good deal of adults.

“Fresh, demanding & brilliantly subversive. Go see this play.
This show is funny, it is poignant, it is theatre daring to say something important…
It’s theatre that runs and slams itself against the very limits of convention.”

“Intense & Unsparing…
a punk grandeur, scattering, bamboozling, the stark, plain and pained,
The whole business of myth making & legacy is placed on the slab and dissected.
The cast are funny, unfunny, past control and deeply affecting.”
